When a basket contains prescription-only (POM) or controlled medicines, e-Pharm asks you to link a prescription so the dispensing is properly recorded.
- 1Add the items to the cart and choose Checkout.
- 2In the payment window, open the Prescription section.
- 3Select the patient's prescription from the list.
- 4Complete payment as usual.
Controlled drugs
Schedule I and II items always require a valid, in-date prescription — the sale cannot be completed without one. For other POM items, a pharmacist may instead record an override reason (for example, an emergency supply).
Only pharmacists, managers, and owners can dispense these items. Each controlled sale is written to the Controlled Drug Register automatically.
